Peace strike has called for an all out strike beginning the 30th of November, where citizens don’t buy anything, or go to work. In times past this was a very effective tool against the state in Northern Ireland. There was what was known as the Rent and Rates strike. I believe we need to adapt these kind of actions to challenge the system and politicians, So far there has been all focus on the banks, but who makes the decisions to bail the banks out. The politicians have so far mostly been able to ignore the occupy movement in London. it’s my belief that it is hidden away, and easily ignored. Let’s take the fight to the gates of the beast. With a picket line on Downing street beginning 11:59pm on the 29th of November, let’s do this in solidarity with the workers, the students and those who continue to lose their lives because of the war taxes being imposed on us all. Let’s do this for the couple who died together because they couldn’t face their life of poverty, Or the manager from TFL who jumped to his death on hearing that he was to lose his job. Let’s do this for the 99%. Let’s do this for all those who have died in these corporate wars and for all those who will die, when the rulers of this world attack Iran, which many of us believe is imminent.
